Basil Douglas (Doug) Duehring
Basil Douglas (Doug) Duehring of Burton, age 67 passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2025. He fought a courageous 10 year battle with COPD and Emphysema. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Doug’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Doug was born in Flint, Michigan on June 20, 1957 to Robert Ambrose and Loretta Lee (Grubaugh) Duehring. He and his wife Kathy Lynn (Dean/Lovejoy) began their journey together October 16, 1994 and subsequently married August 11, 2001 in Burton, Michigan. He was a die setter most of his life and retired from Ovidon Manufacturing in 2022. In his free time he loved wrenching on cars, drinking beer and weekend fishing, all of which he enjoyed most when it was spent with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Kathy; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Robert and Martha (Reynolds) Duehring, daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany Lynn Dean and Alex Monroe, Jesseaka Lee (Duehring) and Aaron Johnson, Sharlet Renee (Beckman) and Bryan Johnson; beloved grandchildren, Aubree, Ava, Maddison, and Jazzmine Duehring, Alexis and Noah Dean, Trevor Simmonds, Allissa and Adriana Duehring, Jaxon, Jordan and Andrew Johnson, Katelyn, Brody and arriving in October baby Ellie Johnson, Jordan Root and Allyson Sparks; two great grandchildren, Laylah Grace and Breydon Edward James Dean; sisters, Bonnie (Duehring) Adams and Cynthia Duehring, brother-in-law, John Hollis, sister-in-law, Lisa Duehring; father-in-law, Otis James Lovejoy; brother and sisters-in-law, MarJean (Lovejoy) and Howard Daniel, Otis Ray Lovejoy, Phyllis (Lovejoy) Burnett; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Loretta Duehring; brothers, Dennis and Raymond Duehring; sister, Michele Duehring; great-nephew, Gage Elkins; brother-in-law, Richard Adams; Mother-in-law Mary Ann Lovejoy; several other beloved family members as well.

As we all knew Doug was a very dear loving husband to my sister Kathy. He was a great brother-in-law. He was taken too early and will be sadly missed by all. He is now with God, one of God’s angels looking down watching over his loved ones..❤️

Giving my deepest condolences to the Duehring family. Doug was a friend of mine that I met in our Jr. High School days. We hung out, watched TV together, talked, did homework together. He will be missed.
