Anthony “Tony” Herbert Bell Sr.
Anthony “Tony” Herbert Bell Sr, age 61, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in Flint, MI surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born in Reed City, Michigan on July 5, 1963, the son of Herbert and Edna (Thompson) Bell. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandpa and friend to many. Tony grew up in Montrose, graduating in 1981 as a distinguished athlete. Captain of his senior year football and wrestling teams, Tony was an all-state wrestler. His 1981 wrestling team won a state championship and was inducted into the Montrose Sports Hall of Fame. After High School, Tony proudly served four years in the Navy on the USS William V. Pratt stationed in Charleston, SC. After the Navy, Tony worked a variety of jobs before landing at General Motors for the last 30 years. In his prime, Tony was tough as nails and strong as a bull. He was mechanically minded and good with his hands. Tony loved spending time with family, listening to country music, hearing/telling a good joke, fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing, cheering on the Lions and just relaxing with a drink in hand. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by family and friends.
Surviving are mother Edna; children, Sara Bell (Fred Bruce Jr), Lisa Bell (Larry Quince), Anthony Bell Jr (Lauren Pawlusiak) and Kristina Bell (Justin Knapp); grandchildren, Brendan, Deacon and Wyatt; brother Brian (Angela Bell); significant others Roxanne Slackta, Kay Bell and Dawn Kwiatkowski along with many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Herbert, brother William and sister-in-law Barbara.
Cremation is being performed and a celebration of life will be held on July 5 at 1pm, UAW Local 598, G3293 Van Slyke Rd, Flint Michigan 48507. Donations in Tony’s honor can be made to Montrose Wrestling.

I am so sad to hear of Tony’s passing. Tony was such a good friend in high school. He , Dawn and I were always goofing around. I have so many good memories of him. Sending prayers to the family.
