Janice Ann Brown
It is with great sadness that we share Janice Brown has passed away at the age of 71, on the first day of Fall, a sunny September 22nd, 2026 in the home she built with her husband of 50 years.
Janice Ann Tuck was born in Flint on March 16th 1955 to Glen and Roberta Tuck. She attended Flint Ainsworth Schools with her sister Laura and brother Rich, where she would also meet her future husband at the age of 15. She was an incredible athlete in basketball, speedball, and softball, as well as a scholar student and member of the choir. Jan attended Hurley Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse in 1976. She would go on to work for decades in the Labor and Delivery Department at Flint Osteopathic Hospital/Genesys. On June 26, 1976, she married her high school sweetheart Ronald Brown and had two daughters. Jan was also a very proud and loving dog mom throughout her life.
She will be remembered for her tremendous heart, her beautiful smile, and her passionate, generous spirit. She was an active member at Woodside Church and regularly spent time with her many friends and extended family. She was a sports fanatic, an avid reader, and a true competitor at everything she played. She loved being in the sun, cultivating her pretty flower beds and had a deep passion for music of all kinds.
After 39 years Jan was able to retire in 2015 and travel the world with Ron. They had just returned from an incredible trip around the Mediterranean days before she passed. Some of Jan’s most cherished moments were those spent with her children and grandchildren. She was such a loving force and will be missed beyond measure by all who met her.
Jan was proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Ronald Brown; her children Aimee (Jason) Trace and Brianna (Michael) Salling; her grandchildren Brooklyn and Addison Trace; Jacqueline, Everett, and Isaac Salling; her siblings Laura (Terry) VanAntwerp and Rich (Julie) Tuck; and many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Jan’s life will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 at the Detroit Cremation Society at 8253 S Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Visitation hours will be from 2pm to 4pm with a service at 4pm and a dinner to follow, details to be provided at the service.

We are so saddened by the news of Jan passing and our hearts go out to Ron and the family. There are times words fail, we offer support and prayers during this time.
My sister and I played softball and basketball against her and her sister at Ainsworth. We went to Fenton and even after we graduated, we competed in our slowpitch leagues. So sorry to hear this. Hold the good memories, Ron, in your heart. We will as well. RIP Jan Tuck.
Jan was an incredible human being who could be so kind and gentle, or a force of nature when she needed to be. Growing up in the neighborhood as children and adolescents I spent many days in Jan’s family back yard playing basketball and wiffle ball with Jan and her siblings and her father as well. We attended Middle and High school together and Jan was an outstanding athlete, excellent student, and involved in numerous clubs and events. Jan’s best came out though after she married Ron and began raising their family. She so loved and was so proud of their daughters and the girls and later women they became. She and Ron would share the girl’s accomplishments with unbridled joy when I visited with them throughout the years. Jan and her presence will be deeply missed by so many people who knew her and I’m sure all will have great memories of Jan to help them through this time of mourning. My deepest condolences go out to Jan’s family and friends.
RIP JAN
My thoughts, prayers and condolences to Ron and all of Jan’s family, she will always be remembered for her kindness and smile.
Dear Rich and Julie and the Brown family—I’m sorry to hear this sad news! Although I didn’t know Jan well, I know how close you all were. What a gift to have loving memories! God’s peace to you!
