Age 70, of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on William’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

William Jay Lehto was born on June 9, 1956, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Anne (St. John) Lehto. After graduation from Lake Orion high school in 1975 Bill proudly served in the US Navy as an aviation boatswain’s mate. Bill was mechanically gifted and was a talented handyman. He helped many a friend and family member. He married his longtime love Laurie in 2025. And he was delighted to have his granddaughter Harper Marie Ervasti born this year. Bill was witty and smart and a true people person. He is dearly missed.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie Lehto; his son, Matthew Lehto; his daughter, Alivia, and her husband, Christopher Ervasti; his granddaughter, Harper Ervasti; his three step-children: Amy Peters, Chad Peters, and LJ Peters, his sisters: Lori (Keith) Kennedy, Patricia (Dave) Prudhomme, and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Anne Lehto, his brother and sister-in-law Alan and Rita Lehto, and Brionna Lehto Stout, mother of his children .
