Beverly Ann Hamilton

Beverly Hamilton, age 83, of Grand Blanc, Michigan (formerly of Flushing), passed peacefully on May 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born on April 5th, 1943, to Miriam and Clair Pratt in Saranac, MI.  Beverly married her best friend, Michael D. Hamilton, on June 13, 1964.

Beverly lived a life defined by warmth, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to children, family, and community.  Deeply caring and nurturing by nature, she dedicated her life to helping children flourish and supporting the families around them.  Through both her work and personal life, Beverly possessed a rare gift for making people feel cared for, welcomed, and supported.

For more than five decades, Beverly devoted herself to early childhood development and education, a calling that reflected both her nurturing spirit and her deep belief in the importance of giving children a strong beginning.  Of all her professional accomplishments, Beverly was especially proud of her work founding and leading the Day Care Center at Flint Osteopathic Hospital and later opening Red Apple Child Care Center.  Through both roles, she poured her heart into creating nurturing environments where children felt safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.  To Beverly, caring for children was never simply a profession; it was a calling rooted in compassion, patience, and a deep belief in giving every child a strong beginning.

Though she touched countless lives through her work, Beverly’s greatest joy was always her family.  Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren at sporting events, coloring, and creating crafts with them. Warm, nurturing, and deeply caring, she created a home filled with love, comfort, and quiet strength.  She treasured time with those she loved most and found deep happiness in being present for life’s everyday moments.

She also found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits.  Beverly loved sewing and creating with her hands, often expressing care through the thoughtful things she made for others.  Whether through a carefully sewn project, painted ceramics, a thoughtful conversation, or a steady presence during difficult moments, Beverly showed her love through kindness, patience, and unwavering support. She also helped support her husband, Michael, and his love of the theatre at Flushing High School.

Beverly is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Michael D. Hamilton; her children, Michelle (Frank Anthony), Aimee (Michael Hart), and Matthew (Megan Hamilton); her cherished grandchildren, Makayla Hart, Gavin Hart, and Michael C. Hamilton; and her sisters, Linda (Jim Hock) and Carol Pratt.  Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her legacy lives on not only in the family she loved so deeply but in the countless children, families, and educators whose lives were forever touched by her compassion and dedication.  Her family finds comfort in knowing that the care she gave so generously will continue to live on through the many lives she shaped and the love she leaves behind.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at 4:00 pm at Detroit Cremation Society.  Family will be present to receive friends from 2:00 pm until the celebration at 4:00 pm. Rev. Jeff Jaggers to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Beverly’s memory to consider a donation to Goodrich Area Schools or Flint Children’s Museum, reflecting the compassion, care, and lifelong dedication she gave to helping children flourish.

    The Bemis and Hamiltons
    Back in the day
    Two close families
    I have to say
    All the stories shared
    That have been told
    Memories made are
    Worth more than gold
    The angels have gathered
    Up at the gate
    To greet Aunt Bev
    They can not wait
    Mom is there
    With her smiling face
    Open arms and
    A warm embrace
    The children she helped
    Whose lives she touched
    There is an emptiness
They will miss her so much
    She was always there
She was such a big part
    She will never be forgotten
She will live in our hearts
    She was loved by many
    It is easy to see
    Our thoughts and prayers
    Are with the Hamilton family
