Peggy Ann Sommer was born on September 22, 1957, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Sally (Schillag) Farough. Peggy loved to travel, one of her most cherished trips was to Scotland. During her time in Scotland she visited the homeland of her grandmother and embraced the history of her Scottish ancestry. In her free time she also enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, and most of all, time spent with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Gary Sommer; her father: Roy C. Farough; her brother: Bruce (Delanie) Farough; her daughters: Heather (Jason) Thorne and Kimberly (Jeremy) Evitts; and her grandchildren Erik and Ashley Thorne. She leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

Peggy was preceded in death by her mother: Sally Ann Farough; and her brothers: Edwin and Roy Farough.

Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone she met. Friends, coworkers, and even her children’s friends often thought of her as a second mother, a testament to the love and comfort she so naturally offered.
