Helene Tober Fowler
Age 79, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital.
Helene Fowler was born on May 22, 1946, in Watervliet, Michigan, the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Scheffler) Tober. Helene married the love of her life, Richard, on January 7, 1966, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. In her free time after retiring, Helene served as a curator at the Grand Blanc Heritage Museum; she loved spending time with her family and friends, who will remember how greatly she enjoyed playing and listening to music–especially bluegrass–and her excellence at needle crafts. A woman of diverse talents, she also loved to sing and enjoyed bowling. Richard (K8MEG) and Helene (W8MEG) had a common interest in ham radio which involved traveling to events and meeting new people.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard; daughter, Lisa Hull; son, Michael (Shannon) Fowler; granddaughters, Liana Hull and Brittany (Jeffery) Freeman; grandson, Devon (Emilia) Fowler; great-grandchildren, Colton, Bryson, and Melody; along with many other family members and friends.
Helene was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lillian Tober, and her brothers, Chuck, Richard, and Wendell.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 22, 2026, at New Life Christian Fellowship, 2237 Reid Rd., Grand Blanc, Michigan, with Pastor Tim Pike officiating. Beautiful lady Rich. My heart and prayers go out to you at this time..
Helene was a very special friend. I loved our visits.
She excelled in so many areas of her life. She was truly gifted. She will be missed. I am so happy that she is with Jesus.
Best neighbors anyone can ask for. She definitely found her place.
I met Helene when I found that Rich was my 3rd cousin through an ancestry DNA test. At one point, we only lived about a mile apart without knowing it. Helene was a delightful woman and my husband Roger and I enjoyed the time we got to spent with her. I’m sure she is singing with the angels in heaven and we will meet again some day. ♥️🙏✝️
Aunt Helene will indeed be missed. I wish we hadn’t lived so far apart and could’ve spent more time together. I always loved receiving the electronic birthday cards via email. Love you Aunt Helene. We will meet again someday in our Heavenly Home. 🕊🙏✝️
It was a privilege to know Helene. We will see her soon
