Age 79, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital.

Helene Fowler was born on May 22, 1946, in Watervliet, Michigan, the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Scheffler) Tober. Helene married the love of her life, Richard, on January 7, 1966, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. In her free time after retiring, Helene served as a curator at the Grand Blanc Heritage Museum; she loved spending time with her family and friends, who will remember how greatly she enjoyed playing and listening to music–especially bluegrass–and her excellence at needle crafts. A woman of diverse talents, she also loved to sing and enjoyed bowling. Richard (K8MEG) and Helene (W8MEG) had a common interest in ham radio which involved traveling to events and meeting new people.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard; daughter, Lisa Hull; son, Michael (Shannon) Fowler; granddaughters, Liana Hull and Brittany (Jeffery) Freeman; grandson, Devon (Emilia) Fowler; great-grandchildren, Colton, Bryson, and Melody; along with many other family members and friends.

Helene was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lillian Tober, and her brothers, Chuck, Richard, and Wendell.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 22, 2026, at New Life Christian Fellowship, 2237 Reid Rd., Grand Blanc, Michigan, with Pastor Tim Pike officiating. Helene’s family will gather at Detroit Cremation Society, 8253 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 8:30 am before proceeding to Great Lakes National Cemetery for a 9:30 am committal service.
