Age 83, of Burton, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Richard Edward Johnson was born on August 16, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Mr. James Johnson. Richard maintained many careers throughout his life, including his many roles he maintained at General Motors, his work as a repossession agent, and as a bounty hunter. He married the love of his life, Karen Applebee, on March 10, 1995. The two enjoyed 30 years together, creating new memories they would both cherish forever. Richard also shared his love and affection with many animals throughout his life, including many dogs, horses, and other animals. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Karen Johnson; his daughters: Sheila Mann, Donna Davis and husband, Joe; his  grandchildren: Jacob Stephens and wife, Lauren, Jeremy Stephens and girlfriend, Jordan, Jarred Stephens; his great-grandchildren: Hailey Gray, Jaicee Stephens, Tatum Stephens, Casen Stephens, Kinsley Stephens; his sister, Donna Mae Vennettilli; close friend, Jack Belzer; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, James Johnson; his grandmother, Agnes Furtaw; his granddaughter, Lindsey Johnson; and his brother, Donald Johnson.
