Jaxie Kay Gunner
With heavy hearts and endless love, we share the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Jaxie Kay Gunner, at age 68, of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place.
Kay was, above all else, a devoted mother and an loving grandmother. Her love for her family was fierce, steady, and unconditional. She always reached out to help her grandchildren. Being their grandmother was one of her greatest joys.
Kay had a simple and beautiful way of living. She loved baking and being outside in the summertime, enjoying the sunshine. She found happiness in the little things—watching her grandkids and sharing stories, and making everyday moments feel special. She loved God and reading His Word and books about Him.
She worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She worked hard after getting degrees from MSU and MU. Her joy was working with people to see who they were and what was causing them issues and helping them to overcome areas of weakness.
Jaxie Kay is survived by her loving child Autumn Sturm. She remarried Stephen Gunner and willing took on the added responsibility of helping to raise Andrew Gunner, Joshua Gunner, Samuel Gunner, Susanna Gunner, Rachel Gunner, Benjamin Gunner Sarah Gunner and Jonathan Gunner. That is 8 step childrean and a total of 18 grandchildren.
Jaxie Kay Gunner was born on November 15, 1957 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Ruby (Townsend) Tennyson. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Joyce Tennyson.
To know Kay was to be loved by her. She showed up. She listened. She gave. And she made people feel safe, seen, and important.
She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever a part of us.
