Christine Terry Yencer


Age 49, of Durand, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Christine’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Christine Terry Yencer was born on October 17, 1976, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Ronald and Delores (Eckler) Yencer. Chrissy loved spending time with family and friends. Her greatest passion was horses, especially Beau. She adored all her pets. Chrissy always had a great time singing karaoke with friends. She was known for her big heart and always wanting to help others. Her favorite color was teal and she loved dinner rolls, which there were never enough!

Left to cherish her memory are her father: Ron and stepmom Debbie; her sister: Michele Hallock; her nephew: Mathew (Sara) Hallock; and her nieces: Lexi Hallock and Megan (Trent) Marsh; her new added joy, great nephews: Layne and Lincoln; her special friend: Chuck Griffith; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband: John McDonald; her mother: Dee Yencer; and her grandmother: Hermione Yencer.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:00am at Flushing UMC, 413 E. Main St. Flushing, Michigan 48433, with a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family to cover funeral costs.

    My condolences to the entire family. I met Chrissy and her family in the 80’s as we were some of the original members (Michelle too) of the Genesee Equestrians 4-H group. Those times were full of tons of laughs and fun times. My heart breaks for everyone who loved her.
