Michael Thomas Urmetz


Age 40, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Michael’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Michael Thomas Urmetz was born on September 14, 1985 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Debbie (Thomas) Urmetz. Mike deeply enjoyed meaningful conversations, peaceful walks in nature, practicing karate, and also loved playing his guitar, and drawing. He had a profound connection with God and lived his life rooted in faith. Mike was one of the most loving and kind souls, who left this earth far too soon, but has now received his complete healing and eternal peace. He will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved spouse; Erin Urmetz, his father Robert Urmetz; his mother, Debbie Urmetz; his grandmother, Mary Thomas; and his brothers and their significant others: Jeremy Urmetz and Vanessa, and their children; Andrew Urmetz and Sabrina Urmetz, and their children; and Bryan Urmetz and Kasondra, and their children; as well as his mother-in-law, Nancy Rogers.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, John Lewis Thomas, his grandparents, Robert Sr. and Lupe Urmetz, and his Aunt Janene Thomas.

    Some of the best times of my life were spent with Mike and with our friend group as teenagers and young adults. I will never forget all of our memories and will cherish them forever. To Mike’s family I am so sorry for your loss
