Bethany Anne Crandall

Bethany Anne Crandall, age 82, of Goodrich, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025 with her daughters Paula and Amy by her side.

The night before she passed, all of her daughters and grandchildren spent time at her side sharing memories and showering her with love.

Bethany was born on September 5, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bevan and Helen (Peck) Bates.

Beth was a loving Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Friend, Step-mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.   In high school she was a member of Future Homemakers of America, Future Teachers of America, Cadet Teachers, and Choir.  She also was a member of the First Baptist Church Choir as a teenager, directed by her father, and was baptized at the age of 15.  She graduated from Almont High School in 1961 and married her high school sweetheart (Bob) in 1962.  She was a Homemaker and Mom first, and had three daughters (Paula, Donna, and Amy).  She held many jobs during her life, helping out at the family store, Bates IGA, as a young adult; later working at the Almont Hospital, and Bowman’s Drugstore, she was an Aerobics Instructor, a Nanny and Housekeeper, to name a few of the places and jobs she held while raising her girls.  She eventually put herself through college at Detroit College of Business earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business in the early 90s. She met her second husband, Randy, when they were part of the Parents Without Partners group; they later married in 1992, starting her new chapter with three teenage boys.  After earning her degree, she worked at Talbot’s as a salesperson for a short period then took a position as a Student Advisor for the Detroit College of Business/Davenport University where she worked for many years.  She eventually took a Student Advisor position with Baker College and worked there until she retired at 72.

Hobbies and interests included sewing, bowling, reading, music, attending concerts, traveling, antiquing, cooking and baking. She loved hosting family and friends for various parties and gatherings.  She and Randy absolutely loved spending time with their children and grandchildren especially at the Mee Too Lodge.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved sisters, Kathleen Pierce (Thurlow) and Christine Orlandi; loving daughters Paula M. Baldwin, Donna M. Millikin, and Amy M. Crane (Tracey); cherished grandchildren, Corey Chaney, Emily Henley, Madison Marshall (Mac), Pamela Baldwin, Mitchell Henley, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Also survived by step-sons, William Crandall (Tina), D. I have lots of childhood memories of your mom/ Aunt Beth, when you lived up by the Almont High school football field. It’s sad that time goes by so fast and we are eventually just left with the memories. I send my condolences for your loss. I know is a hard thing to get thru. Love and hugs to you all. ♥️🙏🏼
