Age 83, of Burton, passed away on September 21, 2024. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Willie’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Willie Simpkins Jr. was born on October 2, 1940, in Henlawson, West Virginia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Lillie (Webb) Simpkins, he was one of 13 siblings. He served in the US Army as a young man and spent the majority of his life as a Master Mechanic. He was a hard worker with a zest for life and nothing was more important than his family. He loved spending time with them and telling stories to the grandkids. He will be loved and missed greatly by us all.

He is survived by his children Tracy Simpkins, William D Simpkins, Adenia Simpkins, Ressie Mihalcin, Sherri Earl (Rick). Grand children Stepanie Sanford (Jay), Sara Simpkins, Racheal Kirby, Devon Simpkins, Logan Simpkins, Thomas Cole, Kris Cole, James Featherston III (Michelle), Matthew Martin, Kymberlee Land (Doug). And several great-grand children.

Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Lynda Simpkins, his parents Willie Sr & Lillie Simpkins plus many of his siblings.
