Nancy Dezelah, a beacon of style, grace, and fierce independence, passed away peacefully at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 28, 2024. A devoted mother, Nancy is survived by her three children—Ellen Muehlenbeck, the eldest; Ed Thomas; and Jennifer Mongeau, the youngest. She reunites in peace with her beloved son, Marc Thomas and her grandson, Justin Muehlenbeck. Nancy’s legacy continues through her six grandchildren—Joshua Muehlenbeck, Meaghan Alberts, Melissa Fairbanks, Jayden Muehlenbeck, Dustyn Thomas, and Delaney Abbott—and her ten great-grandchildren—Greyson Alberts, Parker Alberts, Elayna Fairbanks, Emilia Fairbanks, Jordan Muehlenbeck, Avelynne Abbott, Josephine Abbott, Lennox Thomas, Ryiat Thomas, and Tullsa Thomas—each carrying forward her spirit and strength.

Nancy was renowned for her impeccable fashion sense, always dressed to impress with perfectly styled hair, tasteful makeup, and a penchant for elegant accessories in gold, silver, and diamonds. Her eye for fashion was matched by her talent in the kitchen, where she delighted her family with wonderful meals. Her home was a testament to her meticulous nature, always clean and tidy, reflecting the care and pride she took in her surroundings.

Her love extended beyond her family to the animal kingdom. Nancy adored her cat, Baby, and cherished her grand dogs—Pepper, Moose, Ruby, Cooper James, Bailey, Taz, Louie, Tyson and Jasmine. She was a friend to all creatures, regularly feeding squirrels, chipmunks, deer, and birds. Nancy dreamt of a world where all beings could live in harmony.

Nancy had a flair for all things red, which added a vibrant touch to her life. Her love for cutting her grass was evident in the immaculate, straight lines she meticulously maintained. She took pride in washing her car weekly, ensuring it was always spotless and gleaming.

Known for her sass and sharp wit, Nancy instilled in the women of her family the virtues of independence and resilience. She herself triumphed over multiple myeloma and bore the loss of her son with remarkable strength, embodying the role of the family matriarch.

Nancy had a special bond with her son-in-law, Nick, whom she loved dearly. Their relationship was marked by mutual respect and affection, adding another layer of joy to her life.

Even as Alzheimer’s clouded her memories, Nancy’s heart overflowed with love and joy. She lived each moment fully, teaching those around her the beauty of living and loving in the present. Her joyous spirit and boundless love will be missed beyond words. Nancy will continue to be deeply cherished, living on through the hearts and lives of her family.
